Recipe: Pear Chai-der

Riff on traditional apple cider with pear and Aditi Chai

Optionally add Rye for a boozy kick :-)

Ingredients

3 oz pear juice

3 oz Aditi Original Masala Chai concentrate

1 tsp dried orange peel, chopped

1 cinnamon stick, broken in half OR 1/2 tsp of ground cinnamon

2 allspice berries, whole

1 tsp brown sugar

1/4 tsp vanilla extract

Optional: 2 oz rye whiskey

Directions

Place all ingredients except the vanilla (and rye, if using) in a small saucepan and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to a simmer, partially cover the pan with its lid, and let simmer for about 5 minutes to allow spices to steep.

Remove from heat, stir in the vanilla (and optional rye) and let sit for 5 more minutes. Strain into your favorite mug and enjoy!

Makes one cup of chai-der.
